QJMotor has expanded its range with the SRK700, a sporty Naked with 700cc parallel twin that is claimed to have a peak power of 73 hp and a curb weight of 196 kilos.
Founded in 1985 as part of the Geely Group – which indeed also incorporated Volvo – Wenling City-based Zhejiang QJMotor Co., Ltd. focused in R&D and production of motorcycles, engine blocks and essential components.
In 2005, Benelli was incorporated, which gave the Chinese the know-how of heavy engines, the range of engines varies from 110cc scooters to 1,130cc engines for race cars. They claim to be a leader in the trend of heavy duty engines for the local market, the products are now exported to 130 countries and regions.
After putting Benelli back on the map in Europe, QJMotor has now also set its own sights on the European market, as witnessed by the fact that the Chinese turned out quite well at the EICMA in Milan last year. Under the strategic leadership of Geely Group, the company formulated a strategic 50-year plan to build “10 billion Qianjiang”.
Now QJMotor already had a large line-up of models, using engines that are also used at Benelli, but that does not apply to their latest addition: the SRK700, which is powered by a completely newly developed 698cc parallel twin.
With the SRK700, QJMotor focuses on the mid-range Naked market, where the MT-07 and Z650 currently rule the roost. With a peak power of 73 hp at 11,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 67 Nm at the best high speed of 10,500 rpm, the SRK700 is on the level of the MT. Naturally, the engine complies with Euro 5.
Zhejiang QJMotor Co., Ltd. claims to have always pursued a development strategy of cutting-edge technology with refined equipment and high-end products, which is underlined by the upside-down front forks and Brembo brake calipers. The frame is somewhat similar to that of the Z650, the banana-shaped swingarm looks super cool.
What else do we know? That the SRK700 has a seat height of 790mm, cast aluminum wheels with Pirelli Angel GT tires in sizes 120/70 ZR17 at the front and 160/60 ZR17 at the rear and weighs 196kg with a full 15-litre tank.
The QJMotor SRK700 is said to cost € 6,999 in Europe, but the BPM would have to be added for the Dutch market. If QJMotor is brought to the Netherlands, because that is not yet known.
