With the Radford 62-2 old times have to be relived in a modern way and that is exactly what happens in the interior of the British sports car, which is based on Lotus. We now get to see the interior for the first time.
Under the leadership of, among others, former F1 world champion Jenson Button, British coachbuilder Radford was revived earlier this year. The first 21st century creation to bear that name is a tribute to the Lotus 62, a race car of the brand from the 1960s. The Radford is therefore called the 62-2 and only 62 of these are made, all very appropriately. In any case, it already looks special from the outside and now we see that the inside is also a striking appearance.
Although the Radford 62-2 shares its base with the Lotus Evora, there is virtually nothing to see inside. The British have prepared an almost completely new interior for the Radford. Here, just like on the outside, it is a tastefully executed mix of modern and classic. Especially the steering wheel and the chrome buttons on the dashboard are clearly a nod to the 1960s. The stopwatch and clock of the British brand Bremont that hang from the dashboard provide an extra classic touch.
In addition, one has not been tempted to mount a large infotainment screen with which the classic content would be significantly reduced. No, you can hang your smartphone on the dashboard if you find it necessary. The Radford does have digital instruments. There are also three screens – two on the sides and one in the middle of the car – on which you get a picture via cameras of what is happening next to and behind the car. Finally, Radford indicates that customers can choose from a range of different materials for the upholstery of both the seats and the dashboard. Either way, if you get your hands on a Radford 62-2, you’ll have something special waiting for you.
