The fully electric Range Rover will be released later this year. An electric model will follow next year. We see it here, it appears to be an EV that resembles the Range Rover Velar in terms of proportions.
The still quite fresh Range Rover will soon be joined by a fully electric version, which is not surprisingly called Range Rover Electric. However, we already know that another electric Range Rover is in the pipeline. That will come next year, according to the plans that JLR revealed last April. It would be a medium-sized SUV, which is clearly somewhat smaller in size full size Range Rover Electric stands. That car has now appeared in front of our spy photographer’s camera in the far north.
Details are still somewhat hidden by the extensive stickers, but it is already clear that in terms of proportions this is a car that may eventually succeed the Range Rover Velar. The roofline, which is quite sloping for a Range Rover, in particular points to this and the as yet unnamed newcomer has an almost station wagon-like body. As far as can be seen, the front looks immediately recognizable as that of a Range Rover. Although with headlights placed relatively low in the nose. At the rear, count on fairly minimalist-lined taillights and apparently a recess for the license plate placed quite low in the stern.
The youngest member of Range Rover (which is now a brand) is, unlike its bigger brother, on the EMA base. The Electrified Modular Architecture is intended for models that are exclusively available with an electric drive. It is not yet entirely clear what we can expect from this, although we already know that Jaguar has an EV on that basis in the pipeline with a driving range of 700 km.
