Porsche is adding a new basic version to the Dutch delivery range of the electric Taycan. It concerns the nameless version that will be placed a step below 4S on the menu. The basic Taycan is the first version of the electric Porsche to be on the price list for less than a ton.
Porsche currently supplies the Taycan in three variants. At the top is the mighty 761 hp Turbo S, which has the Turbo with 680 hp and the 4S (430 hp) under it. Porsche is now adding a new version to the delivery range, taking over the role of entry-level model.
It is simply called ‘Taycan’. The Dutch starting price of this type, at € 87,200, is well below that of the more than € 110,000 4S. Of course this requires a completely different powertrain. In contrast to its brothers, the basic Taycan is always rear-wheel drive. On the rear axle is an electric motor that is 326 hp (with Launch Control temporarily 408 hp) powerful if you combine it with the smallest battery pack, which has a capacity of 79.2 kWh. However, the basic Taycan is also available with the Performance Battery Plus package, which provides a 93.4 kWh battery pack. The electric motor on the rear axle thus kicks it up to 380 hp (with Launch Control temporarily 476 hp). The Porsche Taycan with 79.2 kWh battery pack has a range of 431 km. With 93.4 kWh, the WLTP range is 484 kilometers. This gives the basic Taycan the largest range in the range. Previously, that honor was reserved for the 4S with Performance Plus battery (466 kilometers).
The battery pack can be fully charged with a charging capacity of up to 270 kW (Performance Battery Plus). In that it differs from the other versions. The rear-wheel drive Taycan sprints to 100 km / h in 5.4 seconds, regardless of which battery is in the ground. The same applies to the top speed, which for the basic Taycan is in all cases 230 km / h. On the outside, the entry-level Taycan can be distinguished from its more powerful siblings thanks to special 19-inch ‘Taycan Aero’ wheels, which conceal black brake calipers.
The first copies are expected at the dealers around March. Does the story about the basic Taycan sound familiar to you? That may just be right. In the middle of last year, Techzle could already exclusively announce that the entry-level model presented in China would also come to the Netherlands.
