Even more popular than Ioniq 5

The smooth, low Hyundai Ioniq 6 proved even more popular on its first day on the Korean market than its equally outlandish brother, the Ioniq 5. At the market launch in South Korea, no fewer than 37,446 orders were placed.
The (pre-)ordering of the Hyundai Ioniq 6 started on August 23. The number of signatures mentioned was collected on that day. The earlier Hyundai Ioniq 5 illustrates exactly how much that is. Although that electric model does not complain about attention either, ‘only’ 23,760 units were ordered on the first day.
Hyundai emphasizes that in addition to the special appearance, the extended driving range of the ‘6’ is also appreciated by customers in the home country. In Europe, that is even 610 km for the most economical version, against 507 km for a comparable Ioniq 5. In Korea, those numbers are lower due to a different test cycle, but the difference is of course large. Logical, because the Ioniq 6 excels with its good streamline. The idea that the sedan could make a serious comeback due to the rise of the EV is in any case reinforced by this warm welcome for the Ioniq 6.
