Red Bull is launching its own hypercar this year

Red Bull presents its first hypercar this year. This was announced by the team principal of the Red Bull F1 team, Christian Horner.

The bright minds at Red Bull Racing are not only good at building Formula 1 cars, chief designer and F1 legend Adrian Newey also knows how to handle hypercars. Just look at the Aston Martins Valkyrie and Valhalla, which Newey was responsible for. The latest project for the celebrated British designer is the Red Bull RB17, announced a year and a half ago. That will be a hypercar that Red Bull releases under its own name. The RB17 will finally be presented this year, Christian Horner reveals Sky Sports.

Horner does not reveal any further details, but a few things have become known since the announcement in 2022. The RB17 will be a two-seater with a monocoque made of carbon fiber composite. A more than 1,250 hp two-seater, to be precise. That power comes from a hybrid drivetrain, with a V8 as the combustion engine. According to Evo the RB17 will have smart aerodynamic tricks in the floor, to stay close to the asphalt thanks to the ground effect, just like the current F1 car. With the RB19, last year’s Formula 1 car, Newey once again showed that he has mastered this well. We are curious to see how it will turn out on this hypercar (purely intended for the track).
