Zero on appeal

Just imagine: Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton together in an F1 team. Earlier this year that seemed closer than ever, were it not for the fact that Red Bull had other plans.
Many Formula 1 fans would love it if Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen would work with the same material. Then perhaps the eternal discussion would come to an end as to which of the two is the better driver. However, Verstappen is not considering leaving Red Bull and Hamilton has re-signed with Mercedes. However, the latter was anything but certain for a long time. In fact, it now appears that the seven-time world champion has turned to Red Bull.
That special revelation comes from none other than Red Bull team boss Christian Horner, in conversation with The Daily Mail. The 50-year-old explains to that medium: “Earlier this year there was the question of whether there would be interest (from Red Bull in Hamilton, ed.).” A negative response was sent to Camp Hamilton. “I don’t see Max and Lewis going together. The dynamic between the two would not be good, we are 100 percent happy with what we have now,” said Horner. By the way, according to him, Red Bull is not the only team that Hamilton turned to. According to him, Ferrari also received an expression of interest and Horner is convinced that Hamilton’s representatives even spoke to the Scuderia’s senior management in the spring.
Lewis Hamilton is still chasing his eighth world title and must hope that Mercedes can get out of the two-year struggle. At the end of August it was announced that the Briton had extended his contract with the racing stable until 2025. New regulations will come into effect the following year, and there may still be a change for the then 41-year-old 103-time GP winner.
