Lexus will soon give the ES a facelift. It will not make its public debut in China until later this month, but Lexus is already releasing the first footage of the sharpened sedan today.
Lexus added the ES to the European delivery range in 2018. In our part of the world, this 4.96-meter-long sedan is only available as a hybrid ES 300h, but is also available elsewhere in the world with more conventional petrol powertrains. Lexus already shares an image of the modified ES and immediately releases a teaser video. This way we can already report something about the appearance.
In any case, he gets revised headlights, the shape of which does not seem to change. Lexus does adjust the interpretation. The LED matrix wicks, which currently have a kind of trapezoidal shape, are being replaced by more square ones. Also new is the shape of the lightning bolt-shaped LED daytime running lights on the underside of the headlight. The top point of it is longer and from now on it starts more in the center of the headlight and runs less far towards the grille. Lexus also makes small changes to the rear. The rear spoiler of the renewed ES that Lexus shows in a teaser video, betrays that it is an ES with F-Sport decoration. The rear lights seem to get a darker housing and the interpretation of the unit is also changed at detail level. It seems that they optically merge better with the black part between the rear lights. Small side note: the teaser video shows the version of the ES intended for the North American market, which may differ from the European model in detail.

Lexus will undoubtedly make minor changes to the interior. The hybrid 300h variant will probably remain the only power source in the Netherlands.
The first ES was launched in 1989 at the North American International Auto Show, where the much more important brand image maker LS was also presented. With the duo reveal, Toyota prevented it from launching its luxury division Lexus with just one model. The primal ES was also based on the Camry (V20).
