To prevent large crowds in trains in times of corona, there is the Train Indicator service of the NS. Travelers use this to register their planned trip.
What is the purpose?
The use of public transport has changed due to the corona pandemic. Fewer people travel by bus and train. However, it can still be too busy on the train. Keeping distance then becomes difficult. The NS calls on everyone to register their train journey via the internet. The passenger immediately sees how busy it is expected to be on the train. Are there too many people in your opinion? Then you can make the trip at another time if that is more convenient for you. A registration is not required. It also does not count as a train ticket and does not entitle you to a seat. It is a way to contribute to safe travel.
How and when to register a trip?
You can register a journey via the internet or via the NS app. It is only possible for train journeys of today or tomorrow. You can register up to one minute before departure.
