Remarkable recall of Kawasaki Australia: tinted windshield too dark

Kawasaki had to roll out a very special recall in Australia. The tinted screen of the Ninja 400, which is available as an option, does not meet the safety specifications of Australian Design Rule 8/01 – Safety Glazing Material.

Remarkable recall of Kawasaki Australia: tinted windshield too dark
In accordance with Australian Design Rule 8/01, this is therefore too dark

We normally pay no attention to a recall that does not apply to the Dutch market, but this one is too bizarre to pass us by. Kawasaki has one in Down Under It’s like lying flat on the tank on the streetrecall for the Ninja 400. Not because there is something wrong with the bike, but because the tinted window that is available as an accessory and gives the bike a cooler look does not meet the specifications of Australian Design Rule 8/01 .

Under normal circumstances, the tinted screen is too dark, so there is a chance that when you are lying flat on the tank at 130 km/h on the highway in the Northern Territory, 110 km/h in the rest of the country, you will not you can see through the screen.

Customers with such a tinted screen are now requested to contact the local Kawasaki dealer who will take back the tinted windshield and refund the customer. If the customer does not have an original windshield, an original windshield will be mounted free of charge instead of a refund.

We wonder how many customers will actually make the effort, something tells us that not that many screens will be returned.

Don’t get it, then you just look next to her, don’t you?
