Renault CEO Luca de Meo Chairman ACEA

The CEO of Groupe Renault and of the Renault brand has a new position. Busy owner Luca de Meo can also call himself chairman of the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA).

Until recently, BMW CEO Oliver Zipse was the chairman of the European trade association for the automotive industry, from 2023 another CEO will occupy that position. From 1 January 2023 none other than Luca de Meo will be the president of the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA).

You undoubtedly know Luca de Meo as the CEO of both Groupe Renault and the Renault car brand. De Meo immediately makes himself heard in an accompanying letter. According to the eloquent CEO, Europe must adopt policies that support the goal of complete decarbonisation of the industry in order to cope with the increasing international competition. According to De Meo, ACEA continues to strive for a balance between what is good for the European economy and what is good for the environment. Luca de Meo has been appointed as chairman for one year, but his appointment can be extended once by one year. Pastor Oliver Zipse held the position for two years.
