The Renault Express compact van returns. The New Express Van is a no-nonsense commercial vehicle, aimed at transporting cargo at the lowest possible cost.

Between 1986 and 1999, Renault built a small van, the Express. That name returns to the New Express Van, another compact delivery van. The comeback is part of Renault’s new commercial vehicle strategy, which the brand will unveil at the end of March. Because the New Express arrives in the showroom in April, the order books are already open. There is not yet a price for the Dutch market.

The French brand does state that the New Express Van meets ‘the essential requirements of professionals who are looking for the best price / performance ratio’. It fits 3.3 to 3.7 m3 of cargo in the loading compartment. Of the 2.36 meters total length, 1.91 meters can be used in the rear. The sliding door opens 71.6 cm on the side. The diesel version can be loaded up to 650 kg, the petrol version up to 780 kg.

The view from the cab is supported by systems such as Rear View Assist, Blind Spot Warning, Wide View Mirror and Reversing Camera. Entrepreneurs can choose between three levels of multimedia. The most comprehensive Easy Link system offers navigation and also charging for smartphones via induction. The cab has 48 liters of handy storage space.

In the European market, the New Express Van will be offered with the 1.3 TCe 100 FAP petrol engine and the 1.5 liter Blue dCi diesel in 75 or 90 hp; all with a manual transmission with six gears. In addition, the Ecoleader 1.5 Blue dCi 75 appears, which, by limiting the maximum speed to 100 km / h, drives more economically.
