The car world is extremely versatile. It brings together pillars such as culture, economy and environment in a special way, with the result that the car world is packed to the rafters with facts, facts and phenomena that even the biggest car nut in the world does not know. This time we look at Japan in the context of special car phenomena. The Renault Kangoo has acquired cult status there. The existence of the ludospace it is even celebrated annually!

We have undoubtedly all heard of the Volkswagen GTI Meeting on Lake Wörthersee, or of meetings where hundreds of Lamborghinis, Porsches or Ferraris come together. The fact that the less exotic stuff is also – fortunately – celebrated is of course evident from the existence of the colorful Elk Merk Worthy (EMW) group. Note that in Japan the Renault Kangoo has become a cult car. For 14 years, Kangoo owners and enthusiasts have been gathering at the foot of Mount Fuji to celebrate the existence of the practical and in some forms perhaps even cutely designed French space wonder.

The fourteenth edition of the event called Kangoo Jamboree is now behind us. This time no fewer than 2,000 Renault Kangoos of different generations headed to Fuji. The event attracted more than 5,000 visitors. It is striking that – judging by the photos – the Kangoo is quite personalized. The practical Renaults are either lowered or mounted on special light alloy and are often equipped with intriguing roof frames and extensive sticker collections. Renault itself took the opportunity and presented the new Grand Kangoo to the Japanese public.

Pictures say more than a thousand words and so we have limited it to just under 200. Attached is a fantastic video of the Jamboree event shot by the Japanese branch of Renault and almost four hours long. Of course, only Japanese is spoken, but with YouTube’s subtitle function it is easy to follow. Although of course it’s mainly about looking.
