Renault Mégane Sedan (2021) – Into the Wild

Time to bring down the average age of the cars in this section. We do that with this almost new Renault Mégane Sedan, a car that does not stand out, but is still very rare in the Netherlands.

With a quick glance you might think that it is ‘just’ a Talisman, this white Renault. At the front, there is nothing special about the car at all, but the combination of the Mégane nose and a sedan butt really is that in our regions. The four-door version of the Mégane has not been offered here since 2008. That decision was not made due to overwhelming success, so even cars from that period are already really rare. This of course applies even more to the latest edition, which you can undoubtedly count on the fingers of one hand within our national borders.

Also on the websites of Renault in France, Spain and Portugal, the ‘usual suspects’ for such a car, this Mégane-with-butt has not been found since the current generation. The car probably comes from Eastern Europe or even the Middle East, although the latter is less likely given the more complex import process. It is extra special that this is a very current Mégane, from after the facelift announced in 2020. We also know the fresher front bumper and modified LED headlights here, but from the five-door hatchback. The rear is drawn in recognizable Renault style and the sedan butt is, in our opinion, neatly integrated into the design. The fairly high tailgate offers more than 500 liters of luggage space, hardly less than what a Mégane Estate under the tarpaulin delivers.

The stickers on the doors indicate that this rather unique car is not owned by a private individual, but by a dealer. It is therefore for sale, so we did not consider it necessary to make the registration number illegible in this case. Anyone who wants to drive under the radar in something very special should knock on the door of Van Mossel in Rotterdam with €27,495 euros in your pocket. Although there may still be some room for negotiation…
