Renault replaces TCe 100 for TCe 90 GPF

Renault is exchanging the well-known 100 hp and 160 Nm strong TCes from the Clio and Captur for the new TCe 90 machines. This has to do with the Euro 6D Full emission standard that car manufacturers must meet from 1 January 2021.

Dacia recently took the 100 hp and 160 Nm strong TCe 100 from the price list of the Duster. The three-cylinder TCe 100 was replaced by the TCe 90 GPF, which delivers slightly less power with 91 hp, but which with 160 Nm has a torque equal to that of the petrol engine it replaces. The TCe 100s are now also being replaced by the TCe 90 GPF in the Renaults Clio and Captur. The addition ‘GPF’ stands for Gasoline Particulate Filter and dart of course means that the TCe 90’s have a new particle filter. This has everything to do with further reducing emissions. As of January 1, 2021, the Euro 6D Full emissions standard will come into effect, which means that emissions must be monitored.

Prices

The Renault Clio has a starting price of € 18,090 with the new TCe 90 petrol engine. That concerns the Life version. The Clio TCe 90 Zen costs € 19,590 and the same motorized Intense costs € 21,590. Do you prefer the sporty dressed RS Line or the luxuriously decorated Initiale Paris? Then count on amounts of € 23,790 and € 25,090 respectively. This makes the Clio TCe 90 GPF € 600 more expensive than the versions with TCe 100. With the 91 hp petrol engine, the Clio sprints to 100 km / h in 11.8 seconds. Average consumption is 5.2 l / 100 km. The Clio with TCe 130 already meets the Euro 6D Full standard and therefore remains unchanged, although the price has yet to be announced. The Captur with TCe 90 GPF will also be € 600 more expensive across the board than the versions with TCe 100. This means that the starting price of the Captur TCe 90 GPF, executed as Life, will be € 22,090.

There is more motorcycle news under the sun. For example, the TCe 100 BiFuel, the three-cylinder that consumes petrol as well as LPG, is equipped with a particle filter and this power source also meets the Euro 6D Full emission standard. There is no price yet. The Twingo cannot escape a slightly scaled back engine on paper. The smallest model from Renault after the Twizy has to do without a SCe 75 petrol engine. The rear-wheel drive Frenchman gets a 65 hp and 95 Nm SCe 65 in its place. This turbo-free 1.0 thus delivers just as much torque as the SCe 75 it replaces. The Twingo will be € 900 more expensive across the board.
