Renault Taliant is a converted Dacia Logan

Renault has presented a new compact sedan: the Taliant. That is secretly just the new Dacia Logan, but with a Renault-style carriage.

The Turkish division of Renault will soon add this Taliant to its delivery range. The Taliant, which is currently only presented for the Turkish market, serves as the successor to the Symbol, a sedan based on the previous generation Dacia Logan. Where the outgoing Symbol on the outside could hardly be distinguished from the second-generation Logan, successor Taliant gets a body with clear Renault style elements.

Dacia Logan Sedan

The Renault Taliant is of course technically identical to the new Logan Sedan and that means that the Taliant is also on a cheaper version of the CMF-B platform that we know from the Clio, Captur and the new Dacia Sandero. It is striking that this time the Renault has a completely own nose and a Renault-recognizable rear on the sedan. The nose has strong similarities with the Clio and Arkana and is characterized not only with its own grille and a different bumper, but also with Renault viewers.

The lighting on the back is also completely new. Where the Logan Sedan has two relatively small light units at the corners of its buttocks, the Taliant gets lighting that runs much further into the tailgate. It is striking that Renault takes the trouble to develop its ‘own’ tailgate and other different sheet metal parts for the Taliant. After all, such components drive up costs further. That effort was not taken with predecessor Symbol (photos 8 and 9).

Dacia Logan interior

Image material of the interior is not yet released by Renault. It is obvious that the interior corresponds to that of the new Logan and Sandero, although the manufacturer may also adjust the interior slightly to boost the Renault content. Incidentally, the Taliant is not coming to the Netherlands. The same goes for another sedan from Renault, the Renault Mégane Sedan revised last year.
