Renewed Mazda 2 Hybrid: from almost €27,000

The mild-hybrid Mazda 2 got a fully hybrid brother at the end of 2021: the Mazda 2 Hybrid. In contrast to the mild-hybrid 2 developed by Mazda itself, the Mazda 2 Hybrid is actually not a Mazda at all, but a Toyota Yaris with Mazda badges. At least, he was until recently. The Mazda 2 Hybrid has also become slightly less Yaris at the rear.

The updated Mazda 2 Hybrid has a starting price of €26,790. For that amount you can drive the Mazda 2 Hybrid as a Prime-line. That is certainly not the only version in which the hybrid Mazda 2 is available. It is also listed as Centre-line, Exclusive-line, Homura and Homura Plus on the price list. The latter is the most expensive variant and changes hands from €35,190. There are hardly any options. For metallic paint you will spend an extra €700. Mazda charges an additional €900 for the special metallic paint colors Northern White Pearl and Formal Red.

Regardless of the chosen version, the Mazda 2 Hybrid has the 92 hp 1.5 known from the hybrid Toyota Yaris, which together with a 90 hp electric motor is good for a system power of 116 hp. With the Mazda 2 Hybrid you can reach a speed of 100 km/h from a standstill in 9.7 seconds. Its top speed: 175 km/h. Perhaps more interesting is the average consumption. This has been determined at – depending on the size of the wheels – 3.8 to 4.3 l/100 km.
