Spyshots Mercedes-Benz G-class

Although the current generation of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class dates from 2018, the design of the angular off-roader has hardly changed since the 1970s. It should therefore come as no surprise that the facelifted G-class can only be distinguished from the current one by the connoisseur.

The current generation Mercedes-Benz G-class was presented four years ago and – although its appearance may suggest otherwise – was new down to the smallest nut. A G-class has been recognizable as such from a great distance for decades. The G-class, which is now more than four years old, will receive a facelift in 2023, but don’t assume that the Benz will undergo major external changes.

The wrapped G-class in the photos is seen the grille, side pipes and heavy braking apparently performed as a mighty G 63 AMG. The car has a modified front bumper with differently filled cooling openings at the bottom. With that, we have had the clearest adjustment to the top model of the G-class. It is obvious that the appearance of the milder motorized variants will be refreshed in a similar silky smooth way.

We expect bigger news in the interior of the G-class. The terrain executioner will probably get acquainted with Mercedes’ latest incarnation of the MBUX infotainment system. The entire design of the dashboard may even be overhauled, so that the interior more closely resembles that of younger models such as the S-class, C-class and SL.

G class in the Netherlands

The G-class is of course not Mercedes’ top seller. Since the launch of the current generation in 2018, about 200 units have been sold in our country. In 2019, 81 copies left the Dutch Mercedes dealers. Last year there were 26 units and this year the registration counter is at 28 G’s.
