Renault presents the renewed Mégane. On the outside, the changes are small, but there is indeed news to report. For example, the brand introduces a plug-hybrid version, the R.S. version gets more power and the model is equipped with self-propelled technology.

Only the small changes to the grille, front bumper and the rear lights you recognize renewed Renault Mégane. The design is still fresh after more than 4 years and therefore needs no major changes, according to Renault. That of course does not mean that nothing has changed. The headlights are now equipped with LED technology and the screens have been upgraded in the interior. The copy in the center console is now (maximum) 9.2 inches tall, the screen behind the wheel now measures 10.2 inches. De Mégane will also be provided with semi-autonomous driver assistance systems, such as a traffic jam and highway assistant.

Hybrid

The updated Mégane also comes as an E-Tech plug-in hybrid. A 1.6 petrol engine and two electric motors together produce 160 horsepower. The Mégane E-Tech can drive fully electrically over a distance of 50 kilometers, up to a speed of 135 km / h. The 9.8 kWh battery pack can be charged via a charging station or normal socket.

In addition to the introduction of the hybrid version, Renault has more engine news, because the 1.8 turbo engine in the Mégane R.S. gets 20 hp power and 30 Nm of torque. With 300 hp and 420 Nm, it is now just as powerful as the Mégane R.S. Trophy, which remains available. This more for the circuit tuned version has stiffer springs and dampers and a limited slip differential. For people who want the look of an R.S. version but not the power, Renault now has the R.S. Line. It replaces the GT Line.

From the summer, Renault will deliver the updated Mégane, as a hatchback and Estate. The prices are not yet known.
