The electric Volvo XC40 Recharge can’t be dragged on, so it’s extra big news that we can already show you the facelifted XC40 from all angles. AutoWeek shows you the renewed XC40 and the sharpened XC40 Recharge not only from the outside, but also from the inside.

Volvo’s smallest SUV is now about four years old and that means it’s time for a facelift. You don’t have to wait long for the facelifted Volvo XC40, AutoWeek can already show you the renewed SUV extensively. Not only do we have a look at the ‘conventional’ XC40 (photos 8 to 11), but also the revised electric XC40 Recharge.

Fair is fair: the facelifted Volvo XC40 is fairly predictable. In the form of the C40, which is only available as an electric Recharge, Volvo gave the XC40 a little brother at the beginning of this year, which surprisingly got its own nose. That C40 front has now been expertly transferred to the Volvo XC40. The facelifted XC40 gets the same tapered headlights with custom ‘Thor hammers’ in them.

That’s not the only outward news. For example, the XC40 Recharge gets a new grille in which the ‘closed’ part looks tighter because it is no longer recessed. Lower on the front we find a completely new front bumper that is in line with the ones that Volvo screws on its other models. Ostensibly, the rear of the XC40 remains unchanged. The front of the non-electric XC40s follows that of the electric variant, while retaining its own grilles. The interior of the Volvo XC40 also remains visually unchanged.

It probably won’t be long before Volvo presents the facelifted XC40 itself. Keep an eye on AutoWeek in the near future!
