Apple has announced that self service repairs will be available for iPad. From 28 May, these repairs of, for example, the displays, batteries, cameras and external charging ports will become possible.
If you have an iPad, there are two good messages for you today. In addition, as the owner of an iPad you get access to repair manuals, original Apple parts, troubleshoot sessions from Apple Diagnostics, Tools and Huurkits to repair your iPad yourself. From tomorrow, these repairs of, for example, the displays, batteries, cameras and external charging ports will be possible for iPad Air (M2 or newer), iPad Pro (M4), iPad Mini (A17 Pro) and iPad (A16). Other Apple Repair Rvices are also being expanded, with which customers and independent repairers can carry out even more repairs that fall outside the warranty. And there is news about the Genuine Parts Distributor program.
Self Service
Self Service started in 2022 and offers customers who want to carry out their own repairs access to the manuals, original Apple parts and tools that Apple Stores and recognized Apple service providers also use. In line with Apple’s policy to make repairs more accessible, Self Service is constantly being expanded to more products and regions. This addition of iPad models means that you can go to the Evenervice repair shop for the repair of 65 Apple products, including the recently released iPhone 16th, MacBook Air and Mac Studio. This summer Canada will be the 34th country in which Apple Self Service Reparations are possible.
Apple Genuine Parts Distributor program
In addition to these announcements, there is also news about the Genuine Parts Distributor program from Apple. This program was recently introduced with the aim of offering customers even more repair options. Companies that have no direct relationship with Apple can now also carry out repairs. Independent repairers can order original Apple parts via Genuine Parts Distributor. These are supplied by external suppliers, such as Mobilesentrix in the US and Mobilesentrix and MobileParts.Shop in Europe. The program offers a wide range of Apple parts for iPhone repairs, including displays, batteries and charging ports. IPAD parts are also available from 28 May.
