research agency multiscope has published the results of a large-scale survey among nearly 5,000 Dutch people. This shows that more than 4.5 million Dutch households own a smart home product. In addition, a total of 5.2 billion euros was spent on these smart devices.
More than 4.5 million smart households
More than 4.5 million Dutch households own one or more smart home products (57%). In 2021 and 2020, these percentages were still 52% and 42% respectively. The smart home market continues to grow strongly, reports AWSmart†
In total, the Dutch have more than 5.2 billion euros worth of smart home products at home. In 2021 this was still 2.9 billion euros. That is a significant annual increase of 2.3 billion euros. The product category ‘household and comfort’ has the largest share with almost 1.5 billion euros. The other segments follow at some distance.
Coolblue is the smart home store according to the Dutch
The Dutch think of smart home products most often coolblue† In the results of the survey, we see that almost a quarter of the Dutch think of Coolblue (24%) when they want to buy a smart home product. Coolblue has with that Media market (23%), the frontrunner of previous years, has been overtaken. bol.com (12%), IKEA (6%) and Conrad (5%) complete the top five.
