In the early morning hours of April 15, 1912, the largest passenger ship in the world, the RMS Titanic, sank into the cold water in the North Atlantic. Just under a third of the approximately 2200 people on board were able to save themselves – more than 1500 were killed. 73 years later, a team of American and French researchers around Robert Ballard searched for the wreck.
