If you are curious about the CO2emissions when flying, you can use the CO2 Connect Calculator. Unfortunately, this calculator is not (yet) available as a ‘native’ app, but you can use it as a mobile website.

The data from the CO2 Connect calculator is relatively reliable. To make the fuel calculation, the calculation model uses the current consumption of no fewer than 74 different aircraft types. According to the makers, this corresponds to about 98 percent of all aircraft types used for passenger transport worldwide. The information also comes from the traffic information of 881 airlines: that is approximately 93 percent of all global air traffic.
You specify the starting and final destination and indicate in which class you are traveling (for example Economy). Then choose the aircraft model. If you don’t know this, the calculator will automatically choose the model most used on that route. The makers are still working on an extension of the calculator, where you can also specify the airline. Choose Add Flight Leg if you want to specify an additional route. The calculator shows the total CO2emissions in kilos for your trip. Of course, you can also request the underlying calculation model, so that you can see how the result was arrived at.
