The iiyama G-Master GB2745HSU is an entry-level gaming monitor from the Black Hawk series. This means that it is suitable for less demanding games that do not require too high a resolution and image refresh. The counterbalance is an attractive price. This monitor can also be used for standard office work, where the workload can be alternated with playing a mid-range game. The G-Master series from iiyama includes a wide range of groups/clans gaming monitors that meet various demands from low-end to high-end gamers.
PERFORMANCE
This model is solid and sleek in black with a narrow edge. At the bottom right there is a control panel with buttons for the On-Screen Display (OSD) adjustments. The matte 27-inch IPS screen has a Full HD resolution (1920*1080), a maximum image refresh of 100 Hz and a 1ms MPRT pixel time. The maximum brightness is 250 nits, the measured color range is 98% sRGB and 82% DCI-P3, great for gaming and office work.
OSD AND AMD FREESYNC
The wide range of screen settings can be reached via push buttons, including Black Tuner for the gamer and blue light reduction. The AMD FreeSync feature synchronizes the display refresh rate with the frame rate of FreeSync-compatible graphics cards. This reduces or eliminates visual artifacts that many users are particularly sensitive to. Think of input latency, screen tearing and stuttering during gaming and video playback. NVIDIA graphics cards can also use AMD Freesync via the NVIDIA Control Panel.
CONNECTIONS
At the back we see an HDMI-1.4 and a DisplayPort-1.2 connection. There is also a USB2 hub with two USB-A outputs suitable for a keyboard and/or mouse. You can also charge your phone with up to 500 mA. There are two 2watt speakers, but gamers prefer to work with wired headphones via the 3.5mm audio jack.
ERGONOMICS AND POWER CONSUMPTION
The ample ergonomic facilities include a protruding base, so that little space (9 cm) is required behind the monitor.
The screen can rotate on the base and even has a pivotfunction, so that the screen can also be placed completely vertically. The height adjustment is a nice 15 cm (bottom/top of screen 5 to 20 / 42 to 57 cm above the table top). The screen can tilt further at an angle of up to 22 degrees and VESA mounting is an option.
The power consumption is energy class E up to 22 watts; typical consumption is about 17 watts with 0.5 watts in stand-by.
CONCLUSION
The iiyama G-Master GB2745HSU Black Hawk is a gaming monitor for the starting gamer who does not yet place high-end demands on the monitor. The Full HD resolution provides a nice, large image with good sharpness. This iiyama gaming monitor has an attractive price-quality ratio.
