The iiyama ProLite X4373UHSU is a 43inch 4K multifunctional computer screen. A gigantic screen with many setting options.
You may be wondering what to do with such a gigantic screen, which also requires a space of 98 x 83 cm on your desk. However, the applications are also suitable: it is an ideal screen for photo and video editing where you have a good view of your media and the instructions on your screen and for the visually impaired who can easily distinguish things with this screen. In addition, you can display the image in 4K and split it into four FHD screens via one (very handy with Windows 11) or multiple video connections, thus creating many flexible options. Finally, you can also use the screen as a combined TV and computer screen.
The monitor has a net 42.5 inch matte, flicker-free VA display with 4K resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels) with 60Hz refresh rate, great for consistent color reproduction, a viewing angle of 178° and a good static contrast of 4000:1. The response time is fast at 3 ms and the brightness has a decent 400 cd/m2. 85% NTSC is specified for color coverage. We rarely see this type of mention here, but it is about 120% sRGB. That’s great color coverage. Video connections are 2x HDMI, 1x DisplayPort and 1x Mini DisplayPort. In addition, there is a DisplayPort output for up to four screens and the screen can be used as a graphics controller, because DisplayPort MST is supported. Built-in USB 3.0/5Gbps hub with 2 USB 2.0 500mA and 2 USB 3.0 900/1500mA outputs. Included cables are 1x HDMI, 1x DisplayPort and 1x USB uplink.
In addition to the OSD (On Screen Display) buttons on the right side of the screen, a universal remote control (AB) is included. The AB sensor is in the bottom center. It is necessary to consult the documentation to see which keys of the AB are active for this screen. In addition to the standard screen settings, we find the Blue Light reduction, HDR activation and, of course, the options to display multiple images from multiple sources simultaneously. Think of PiP (Picture-in-Picture), in which a second image is included in the main screen, and PbP (Picture-by-Picture), where up to four images appear seamlessly on the screen.
Due to its size, the ergonomic settings are limited to tilt only. Other mounting options are also available via the VESA connection, including wall mounting. The sound is better than most monitors, but still sounds quite hollow, which does not benefit the intelligibility. An alternative is the 3.5mm jack for headphones.
In summary: a neat 4K monitor with many options, including PiP and PbP, for multifunctional use with good colors and contrast.
