The iiyama XUB3294QSU-B1 is a 31.5-inch QHD monitor for general use with excellent contrast.
Adam Munsterman
The first thing you notice about the iiyama XUB3294QSU-B1 is the high contrast, which makes the image look colorful and realistic. Black is deep black with this VA screen, which you will certainly see when you use the screen as a TV, for example when you watch series and films. In addition, this monitor is a nice size with no less than 31.5 inches (almost 80 centimetres!). The monitor has a sleek design with narrow bezels and in black. The screen stands on a modest but sturdy base.
Screen
The matte, flicker-free 31.5-inch screen is therefore of the VA type (Vertical Alignment) and has a good contrast, which is the difference between light and dark. The resolution is QHD, which stands for 2560 x 440 pixels. That is a nice ratio for a lot of image with sufficient sharpness where none image scaling is needed. The screen refresh rate is 75 Hz with a pixel response time of 4 ms, good for basic use but not for high-end gaming. The viewing angles are 178 degrees and the maximum brightness is 250 nits, so for indoor use. We use the SpyderX to measure the color space and get 94% sRGB and 75% DCI-P3, great for home use. The factory calibration of the screen is quite good.
Connections
The monitor has, among other things, one DisplayPort 1.2 and two HDMI2.0 connections, which is more than sufficient for most applications. In addition, there is a 5 Gbps USB hub with two outgoing ports and also a 3.5mm audio jack. The HDMI, DisplayPort and USB cables are included. There are two speakers built in, but they give a meager sound at low volume.

Ergonomics
The ergonomic features are good: turning on the base, tilting, height adjustment of 15 cm, pivot function to put the screen vertically and finally a 10 cm VESA connection for wall mounting, for example.
Service
The OSD control (On Screen Display) is located at the bottom center of the screen and is a single joystick that moves you quickly through the options. It does take some getting used to to be able to operate the settings quickly. We see an option for reducing blue light for eye rest in the evenings. The power consumption is 0.5 watts in standby and about 31 watts in operational use. There is no power off button.
Conclusion
In summary, a price-wise attractive monitor with a nice large screen with QHD resolution and high contrast. The field of application is universal. but not suitable for high-end gaming and professional multimedia editing.
