Design, processor and memory
Unboxing the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i ProX which is the successor to the Pro, we see a sleek compact laptop in dark silver gray. You can put together your own configuration of the ProX via the Lenovo website. In the received demo laptop we see the most recent powerful techniques, including a 12th generation Intel i7-12700@2.3..4.7GHz processor with 14 cores, 16GB DDR5@6000Mhz soldered memory, 512GB NVME SSD with max. 6800 MB /sec seq. reading speed. The Intel AX211 card offers Wi-Fi 6E and BlueTooth 5.2. All in all, a nice set of state-of-the-art hardware with excellent benchmark scores. We see super fast DDR5 memory for the first time in a laptop to be tested!

Screen
The glossy 3072 x 1920 IPS 14.5-inch screen with touch controls has a beautiful 3:2 size and resolution for razor-sharp images with a brightness of up to 400 nits. Great for indoor and outdoor use. The color range is 100% sRGB and the screen is delivered hardware calibrated. The image refresh is standard 60 Hz, but can be brought to auto 60/120 or 120 Hz with a key combination for applications such as games. However, the 120 Hz produces an unstable image, which requires a driver update. The control of the screen takes place from the graphical Iris Xe processor integrated in the i7. That is not a graphics processor for heavy graphics games, but it shows in the benchmark that a profit has also been made here. An Nvidia Geforce GTX1650 or 3050 is available at extra cost.

Connections, webcam and software
On the left we see two high-speed Thunderbolt-4 USB-C connections with one HDMI 2.0 connection. Thunderbolt 4, with 40GBbps speed over a single USB-C connection, lets you connect everything including displays, such as Displayport 1.4, and USB 3.2-2 (10Gbps) devices. On the right, another USB-A 3.2-1 (5 Gbps) with an audio combo jack and a switch to turn the webcam on and off. The FHD webcam (1920 x 1080 pixels) is located above the screen and provides a good image for video meetings, etc. This webcam can be used with Windows Hello for lightning-fast login to the Windows 11 Home operating system. There is no unsolicited software pre-installed except for the intrusive McAfee. Lenovo Vantage is an installed update manager to keep BIOS and drivers up to date.

Keyboard and battery
The backlit keyboard is well-arranged and taps well. The 13.5 x 8cm touchpad offers enough space and responds well. On the sides of the keyboard we each see a Harman Kardon speaker with reasonably good sound for speakers of this size. A 100W charger is included for the 70Watt battery. Rapid Charge is supported with 15 minutes of charging for 3 hours of work. The battery lasts an average of 12.5 hours, so more than a day’s work.

Conclusion Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i ProX
All in all a very nice compact and powerful universally usable laptop with state-of-the-art techniques, so that the user can enjoy it for a long time. Another advantage is that the laptop can be put together according to your own wishes and comes with a 3-year warranty.
