Do you live near Schiphol and are you often curious about the planes that fly low over? Schiphol Airport recently released the Notifly app.
The app looks at your location and combines this data with expected air traffic. Based on this, you can look up to 24 hours ahead and see which planes are likely to be nearby.
In addition to information about the flights (including data about the aircraft type), the app provides additional information. This way you can see which runways are in use. The app also indicates when planned maintenance is taking place on the runways. The app also includes the current weather conditions, which of course also influence the course of air traffic (and noise).
You can request air traffic on a map. If at any time more traffic is expected than usual, you can be notified. The makers also try to get feedback about the noise nuisance: for example, you can indicate how you experience the noise of the overflying traffic. Users can choose the emoticon that best suits their experience.
