In 2023 we tested the Samsung Galaxy Book3 Pro and now its successor has appeared with the Galaxy Book4 Pro. The new Book4 series consists of 4 models: Book4 360, Book4 Pro, Book4 Pro 360 and Book4 Ultra ranging in price from € 1699 to € 3699. We tested the Book4 Pro 360 with a suggested retail price of € 2299. The 360 ​​indicates that it is a 2in1 model and the Pro indicates that it is more of a model for the business user or the business world. In addition to all the modern technology, it has a touch screen and an S-pen is included.
Design
The test model comes in Moonstone Gray, which is a business gray color. It is not a compact model with its dimensions of 355 x 252 x 12.8 mm and a weight of 1660 grams. This is (partly) due to the 16-inch screen with an aspect ratio of 16:10, so that the user has more vertical space available than standard 16:9 screens. This 360 model can be completely folded, so that it can be used in tent form or completely flat as a tablet.
Screen
The screen is very special and is a 3K Dynamic Amoled 2X touch screen with anti-reflective coating, 2880 x 1800 pixels at 120Hz. Furthermore, the beautiful 16-inch screen has complete sRGB and DCI-P3 color coverage and with a maximum brightness of 400/500 HDR nits, it provides a perfect image in every circumstance and is therefore optimally usable for the media creator. The 15-inch version has a considerably lower recommended retail price.
Processor, memory and more specifications
Our test model (model NP960QGK) is powered by an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H processor (4.8 MHz) with integrated graphics support from an Intel Arc Graphics adapter. This 155H processor has a dedicated NPU (Neural Processing Unit) for AI workloads. The RAM is 16GB LPDDR5/7467MHz and the storage capacity is a nice 1TB NVMe/PCI4 with nice sequential read/write speeds of up to 5277/4966 MB/sec. Communicates wirelessly up to Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 and with fixed connections with a micro SD slot, HDMI2.1a port, USB3.2/10Gbps, 2x USB-C/Thunderbolt4/40Gbps, combination headphone output and microphone in .
The touchpad is large at 150 x 108mm and, like the keyboard, works well. The webcam is a 1080p wide-angle version with Auto Framing and provides a good image. Because there is no specific graphics controller, but 120Hz image refresh, the laptop is suitable for medium-end games so that you can (sometimes) relax for a while. Sound is reproduced by 4 speakers tuned with AKG and Dolby Atmos and sound good.
Software
Windows 11 Home is installed and can be quickly opened with the responsive fingerprint scanner at the top right of the keyboard and combined with the power-on button. A number of well-known Samsung utilities are included, including Samsung Update, which keeps software components and drivers continuously up to date. There are also features available to tightly integrate other Samsung devices such as Galaxy smartphones and tablets.
Battery
The Pro 360 has a battery capacity of 76Wh and comes with a 65W AC adapter. This capacity is for about 13-14 hours of work, which is exceptionally good. Fully charging via the fast charger takes approximately 1.5 hours.
Practice test
The test results look good for this machine with recent technology. Start-up and processing are fast. Under heavy load, the noise of the fans remains low, but the processor clock speed is reduced to reduce heat dissipation (heat development).
Conclusion
The Galaxy Pro 360 is a beautiful and solid laptop with a thin and light design. The screen is sublime with a vivid and clear image and this 2:1 laptop also has modern processor technology and scores great performance. The Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 is an interesting but pricey laptop for the creative professional. Given the limited upgrade options, we would also have liked to see 32GB of RAM, a Windows Hello webcam and Wi-Fi 7 for this price.
