With Tapestry, the posts From various social networks combined through a central environment. The app supports various networks and sources, including Mastodon, RSS feeds, podcasts and YouTube. The updates appear on a timeline and therefore in a chronological order.
Unlike the social networks, Tapestry does not apply algorithm that ‘thinks along’ and determines which items you will see at what time: the material is shown one-on-one. To exert influence on the information presented to a certain extent, you can use rules. These are similar to the e-mail rules that you possibly apply to your e-mail. This way you can indicate that you do not want to see certain topics, for example to prevent spoilers. These preferences remain locally on the device where possible and are not processed on the server for privacy reasons, as well as the viewing behavior. The makers indicate that no use is made of it servertracking and plug-ins From third parties that monitor your user behavior.
Handy is that the app can synchronize between multiple devices and, for example, you can continue reading where you left. You can mark interesting items so that you can see them relatively easily later. Unfortunately, the app is not available for Android: hopefully that will change soon.
