Rijkswaterstaat is ready: 100 km / h everywhere

Rijkswaterstaat has finished, as they say, their largest operation in such a short period of time. The exchange of all traffic signs in the Netherlands is done. That is why there is really no turning back and we drive 100 km / h everywhere this morning during the day.

It was the largest operation Rijkswaterstaat ever had to accomplish in such a short period of time. Rijkswaterstaat started the gigantic job last Thursday. From then on, many roads had to drive 100 km / h between 6:00 and 19:00. In total, more than four thousand signs had to be adjusted. The entire operation has cost € 19 million so far.

In the evening and night, driving is still possible at a speed of 130 kilometers per hour in places where this was previously permitted. The government decided to slow down in November last year due to nitrogen emissions and precipitation. The measure will give construction more room to resume projects.
