The new Rolls-Royce Ghost was officially unveiled to the public for the first time today. Still, the brand concealed a variant in the press release which is already on the site: the Ghost Extended, with more space and luxury for the rear seat passengers.
Rolls-Royce is also introducing a variant with an extended wheelbase for the second generation of the Ghost. With the previous model this was still the ‘EWB’, but now it is simply called the Ghost Extended. This is the version you should have if you often drive with a driver. The brand has not yet released official numbers of the sizes, but in the first generation the difference between the ‘normal’ and the EWB was 170 mm, although it should be noted that the new Ghost with its length of 5.55 meters is the same length as the outgoing EWB. The new EWB will therefore grow even further towards 6 meters. It can be recognized from the outside mainly by the longer rear door.
This afternoon, Rolls-Royce already extensively discussed what has changed about the new Ghost. For the Extended those changes are of course the same, including new headlights and a cleaner dashboard that is perfectly in line with that of the Phantom and Cullinan. The entry-level Rolls-Royce model has been further refined in terms of comfort and luxury, with the Extended offering even more space for rear passengers. Furthermore, the audio system has been specially adapted to the changed interior dimensions of the car, so that the sound still sounds optimal. The starry sky, which even offers the option to show shooting stars, is of course a size larger in the extended version.
The exact specifications of the Ghost Extended will follow later, as well as the price tag. As an indication: in the Netherlands, the previous Ghost EWB cost at least 387,000 euros.
