No matter how noble your rank, time has a hold on everything and everyone. The Rolls-Royce Phantom cannot escape a facelift to keep things fresh and fruity.
To be fair: the current eighth generation Rolls-Royce Phantom is far from being a veteran with its birth year 2017. The stately and naturally somewhat classic design also makes the car look not outdated at all. Still, the Phantom will be five years old later this year, so parent company BMW Group can’t resist pulling the car here and there. On a brand new set of spy photos, the renewed Phantom can be seen from all angles.
It does not appear that Rolls-Royce is thoroughly overhauling the Phantom. The top limousine has a grille covered in camouflage work. The headlights are also partly covered with such decals. The headlamps retain their shape, but will undoubtedly receive a new layout and perhaps updated technology. Don’t be surprised if the taillights are also slightly revised, although this test sample in two-tone color scheme does not give any indication of that. We also do not expect any major adjustments to the mighty twin-turbo 6.75 V12 that lives under the lengthy hood.
All in all, the facelift that Rolls-Royce is carrying out on the Phantom seems to be less drastic than the changes that the previous generation Phantom underwent. That seventh generation Phantom got completely new headlights. Here you can read all about that interesting refresh.
