Rolls-Royce will become a fully electric brand by 2030. Although that moment is still quite a while ahead of us, the British mark will soon kick off the transition with the Specter. We now get to see it for the second time, again wrapped in a special print.
You probably associate a brand like Rolls-Royce mainly with heavy limousines with thick V12s. Yet a progressive wind is also blowing through the apparently conservative Rolls-Royce. Last autumn, the brand announced that by 2030 only fully electric cars will be in its range. That announcement went hand in hand with the first image of the brand’s first-ever EV: the Spectre.
That particularly contoured and quite hefty coupé has now also appeared in front of the camera of our spy photographer for the first time. He is still very much covered in stickers with all kinds of cryptic texts on it and yet the photos are definitely worth a good look. We get to see the Specter clearly for the first time from all different angles. This way we can finally study the silhouette well and from that we conclude that we are dealing with a rather oversized GT. It is strongly reminiscent of the Wraith, although the Specter seems slightly more sporty.
The Specter is therefore really a completely new model and not just a slightly modified Wraith with electric motors. It is also not a stretched BMW iX base with a completely different body on it, no, it is really about our own development. You can count on it that it will be a very strong EV with a considerable range, because otherwise a prestigious brand such as Rolls-Royce would not start. Unfortunately, the British are tight-lipped when it comes to performance figures. Anyway, next year we will all know, because then the Specter will be on the market.
