Royal Enfield Launches Scram 411: Urban Street Scramber

Built on Royal Enfield’s proven LS-410 engine and a Harris Performance frame, the Scram 411 combines spirited manageability for heavy city traffic with reliable capability for rougher roads.“, according to Royal Enfield in the press release of the Scram 411. In other words, in a nutshell: A Himalayan, but for the urban jungle instead of the Himalayan mountains.

The new Scram 411 is the result of Royal Enfield’s ongoing quest to build motorcycles that are the perfect ally for any adventure, anywhere in the world. The Himalayan is one such model: Enfield’s first adventure bike that has become one of Enfield’s best-selling models worldwide since its introduction.

All these highly regarded and proven Himalayan characteristics were the inspiration for a more urban, more scrambler styled motorcycle; the new Scram 411.

With the Scram 411, Royal Enfield wants to evoke the authentic scrambler feeling, with a strong adventure DNA built in. Very playful and agile in an urban environment, but at the same time an equally good and capable multi-tasker, ready for whatever he encounters along the way.

The Royal Enfield Scram 411 is powered by the proven air-cooled 411cc single cylinder we already know from the Himalayan, with a maximum power of 24.3 hp at 6,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 32 Nm at 4,000-4,500 rpm. Enfield speaks of a very smooth power delivery and a lot of torque at the bottom, although the latter must of course be seen relatively.

According to Enfield, the Scram 411 is suitable for long urban commute routes with minimal shifting and is very manageable on poor road surfaces and even in off-road use. This manageability is supported by the suspension and suspension. Featuring a 41mm telescopic front fork and 190mm travel and a monoshock link system with 180mm rear travel.

In contrast to the Himalayan, which, as befits a real adventure bike, is equipped with a 21″ front wheel, the Scram 411 has a 19″ front wheel in combination with a 17″ rear wheel. ‘Dual purpose’ tires ensure the handling of the motorcycle, with adequate grip and traction on asphalt, loose gravel or poor road surface.

The seat of the new Scram 411 is designed for even more comfort on long journeys, for both rider and passenger. The seat height of 795mm makes it easy to maneuver in traffic. The riding position gives confidence and is comfortable both sitting and upright.

The new Scram 411 has a digital-analog dashboard that easily displays all essential information, in all (weather) conditions, on a digital screen. The ‘old-school’ analog speedometer adds to the Scram styling. In addition, the Royal Enfield Tripper navigation is installed as standard on all versions of the Scram 411.

The new Scram 411 is available in 2 variants and different colorways, all designed to stand out. Dark ‘Gun Grey’ shade tones with vibrant ‘highlight’ colors that give a nod to the ‘street art’ culture.

There is a choice of the colors Graphite Yellow, Graphite Red and Graphite Blue, which are reflected on the crankcase covers and rims. The other version has a multi-colored tank and other original color designs, with a choice of White Flame and Silver Spirit.

The new Royal Enfield Scram 411 is expected to be available at all official dealers from May 2022. There will also be various accessories available to make the Scram 411 your own. It is not yet known how much it will cost.
