Royal Enfield Scram 450 spotted: 45 hp single cylinder

It was already rumored that Royal Enfield is working on a new line of ‘modern’ engines, but for the first time a very contemporary-looking Royal Enfield Scram 450 has now been spotted in the south of Spain.

Royal Enfield Scram 450 spotted: 45 hp single cylinder

They had already said it last year during the presentation of the Meteor 350 in the heart of Rotterdam that more than 20 new Royal Enfield models can be expected in the coming years.

This has already been done in an expansion of the 350 platform with the Classic 350 and Hunter 350, which is not allowed to be called a Hunter 350 in Europe and has been renamed HNTR 350, and the Scram 411, which is derived from the Himalayan, with, according to insiders, another Bullet 350 in the pipeline.

In addition to expanding the existing platforms, however, new platforms are also being worked on, including this model spotted during test work that is powered by a completely newly developed liquid-cooled 450cc single-cylinder.

Rumor has it that the liquid-cooled four-and-a-half will start producing around 45 horsepower, which would be a huge step up from current air-cooled singles.

Not only the performance of the Scram 450 is completely up to date, the same can be said of the design, which looks very contemporary. The round LED headlight, the narrow LED turn signals and the premium-looking mirrors are just a few nice examples of this.

The fact that the spotted prototype is painted black does not say anything about the status of the development phase, Royal Enfield always sprays the prototypes that are tested in the wild black. The stainless steel exhaust, on the other hand, looks like it is already a production version.
