Expanded and frozen

The French government wants to use subsidies to ensure that people with low incomes also start driving electric cars. This turned out to be quite a success, because much more subsidy was applied for than was made available. That is why the government is still adding to the pot, although there is an end in sight.
In France, you are eligible for an EV subsidy this year if you have an annual income of €15,400 or less. French people who fall within that group can lease an electric car for a maximum of €150 per month through the subsidy. In some cases, the monthly lease amount is even well below €100. For example, a Citroën ë-C3 can be driven for €54 per month. The catch: you still have to pay for the insurance yourself and you sign a lease contract for at least three years. All in all, it is certainly attractive enough for tens of thousands of French people, because the budgeted 20,000 subsidized lease contracts turned out to be far from enough.
The French government allocated €1.5 billion for these 20,000 subsidy applications, but is now once again increasing its budget to be able to grant up to 50,000 applications. That reports Reuters. However, subsidy applications will then be finished for the rest of the year and the French government reports that people who are still fishing behind the net will only have a chance again next year. People who need a car for commuting were (and will soon be) given priority when processing subsidy applications.
As mentioned, for example, the Citroën ë-C3 can be leased under this construction for €54 per month, the Fiat 500e, Opel Corsa Electric and Peugeot e-208, for example, come to €89 per month and for a Peugeot e-2008 you are Lost €149 per month. Cars such as the Renault Megane E-tech Electric and the Citroën ë-C4 can also be leased for less than €150 for French people with a low income. Electric cars that were responsible for a lot of emissions during their production, for example due to production in China, are not eligible. For example, the Dacia Spring is also excluded and the Tesla Model 3 is also not included.
