Saab 900 Convertible (1994) – Enthusiast Wanted

Refurbish or go for a ride

Saab 900 Convertible (1994) – Enthusiast Wanted

Are you looking for a nice convertible now that spring is really approaching? Many people then end up with a Saab like this 900 Convertible. This one could just use some love.

Earlier this month we took a closer look at the Saab 900 Cabrio from Martijn Stadman. That cost almost nothing anymore, but for Stadman the bill only started to run really well after that. Over time, he has made a car with blood, sweat and tears that should be able to continue for a long time. Have you become enthusiastic and do you want to try it yourself? Then this Saab 900 Cabrio might be interesting.

Okay, it is a bit more expensive than the 900 Cabrio from Stadman, but €1,790 is a relatively cheap price for such a car. There are of course some reasons for this. To begin with, the Saab no longer has a valid MOT. It expired in July last year. The car also makes a somewhat ‘tired’ impression here and there. A scrape here and there, leather upholstery that has clearly had its fair share of work, that work. In the photos it seems to be better than expected, but it is probably not really a picture anymore. He has had 14 (!) private owners, that doesn’t help. The latter left it a year and a half ago after a summer of touring.

Saabs of this crop are not bad cars. With its 230,000 km on the counter, this one also probably has some life left in it, but it could still be an exciting purchase. Save a little and you have a fresher copy. But hey, maybe, like Martijn, you are someone who likes to turn it into a project, or you just want to be able to drive around in your own 900 Convertible for next summer (hopefully) for next to nothing!
