Swedish top

Although Saab has been defunct for over a decade, you still come across Saabs regularly. The brand has a loyal following of enthusiasts and you can still regularly encounter the 900 in particular. This applies to a lesser extent to the 9000, which in our opinion is also worth cherishing. This copy is for sale!
The fact that the Saab 9000 may not appeal to the imagination of Saab enthusiasts is undoubtedly due to its origin. The 9000 emerged from the Tipo 4 project, in which Saab developed a new top sedan together with Fiat. Eventually Lancia and Alfa Romeo also joined and the Saab 9000 had three Italian brothers; the Fiat Croma, Lancia Thema and Alfa Romeo 164. The Alfa, which appeared a little later than the other three, did have its own body for the most part. However, the carriage of the Saab 9000 was to some extent interchangeable with that of the Lancia Thema and Fiat Croma. All in all, therefore, the 9000 was far from quirky, while quirkiness is precisely the quality that Saab fans love so much.
That does not alter the fact that the Saab 9000 is a special model in the history of the brand. After all, he was a pretty big boy (4.62 m to 4.78 m) and as a Turbo and Aero the Swede delivered quite impressive performances. The Saab 9000 that we have here in front of us is of a more modest type. This has the 130 hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder. It’s the CS, so the five-door liftback. You also had it as the more dignified-looking sedan (CD), but this one is a bit more practical. Built in 1997, it is quite a ‘late’ 9000. One that, moreover, has not been used too much with less than two tons on the counter. In the photos he makes a nice fresh impression.
There are also downsides: the car has already had seven private owners and the plastic accents under the sills seem to need a light makeover. It is not the most luxurious 9000, although it may have something charming. You can bet that the interior is a nice place to be. After all, Saab put the necessary effort into the seats of the 9000 to distinguish it from its Italian brothers. The 9000 was simply built in Sweden, the build quality of the 9000 was therefore slightly higher than the other models of the Tipo 4 project. The 2.0, a further development of the engine that previously served in the 900, is known as a very reliable power source and especially with this mileage you probably don’t have to worry quickly. The price for all this fun? €2,990.
