Samsung has started rolling out Android 12 for its mid-range smartphones. In Russia, it is now the turn of the first mid-ranger, as the Samsung Galaxy A72 is currently receiving the update.
Samsung’s first middle class gets Android 12
Last November, Samsung rolled out the Android 12 update for their most recent high-end smartphones. A month later it was also the turn of the ‘old’ high-end smartphones. With this, the Galaxy S20 and S21 line from Samsung has been updated, as well as the Note and Galaxy Z series of smartphones. With the Galaxy A72, Samsung is releasing the Android 12 update for a mid-range smartphone for the first time.
The Android 12-based stable One UI 4.0 update is currently rolling out in Russia. There the software comes with the firmware version: A72FXXU4BULA. This update also includes the security patch from last December. It is expected that it will be the turn of other countries soon. It is not known exactly when the update will come to the Netherlands and Belgium. We have listed the new functions of One UI 4.0 for you in this article.
Samsung Galaxy A72
The Samsung Galaxy A72 is the successor to the Galaxy A71 and came with some remarkable choices this year. For example, the ‘top device from the A-line’ did not have 5G, and it was less good in a number of areas compared to the A52 line. For example, the processor is less powerful than the variant in the A52 5G and the A52s and the screen has a lower refresh rate. On the other hand, the A72 does have a larger battery and a telephoto lens that makes it possible to zoom 3x optically, this lens is missing from the A52 line. How to install the update
As soon as the update is available, it will be visible in the notifications and in the notification bar. You can also manually check for the update. You do this by going to Settings, then software update > Download and install to tap.
