Samsung to roll out Android 12 in December

A Samsung community moderator has revealed the likely date of the final rollout of One UI 4.0. The final version of Samsung’s new software, based on Android 12, should be officially rolled out in December.

Number of nights sleep

In mid-September this year, the first beta version of One UI 4.0 became available for the (South Korean) Samsung Galaxy S21. Owners have since been able to test the new features of the software shell.

However, now that Android 12 has been officially announced, and will probably be available for the first time next week on the Google Pixel 6 (Pro), many other smartphone brand owners are wondering when they can expect new software. For the owners of a Galaxy S21, there is now an answer. They should be able to expect a stable version of One UI 4.0 sometime in the last month of this year. This can be read below in a community post from Samsung.

Samsung to roll out Android 12 in December

There is a good chance that the final version of One UI 4.0 will be released in December. Last year, Samsung promised the same and it actually rolled out in December. So it seems that Samsung is sticking to the same plan. Think of it as a kind of Christmas present from Samsung. Ring in the new year with new software.

Styling and privacy

The largest part of One UI 4.0 is all about adaptability. Just like the ‘bare version’ of Android 12, you should be able to customize One UI 4.0 in various ways. Notifications, widgets and wallpapers will soon be styled according to your own wishes.

Privacy is also high on the agenda, according to Samsung. For example, there should be several new privacy functions, including the function to better manage and view app permissions. Curious about what Samsung wants to emphasize even more in One 4.0? Read it in our article from last September.
