Google has not yet announced its first beta for Android 13, but thanks to a leak we already get an idea about the month in which Samsung plans to start its beta.

According to sources from SamMobile Samsung could start as early as July with the One UI 5.0 open beta program based on Android 13. This should give the company a good head start in testing the new firmware for the stable release later this year. July is also the month in which Google releases the last test version. After that, the stable version of Android 13 for Pixel phones will follow.

Last year, Samsung only started its beta program for the One UI 4.0 software in September and in the Netherlands, the owners of a Galaxy S21 already received an update with the stable version in November. You would think that Samsung can now roll out the stable version even faster, if the beta program starts already in July. Still, we must be aware of changes to this schedule, Sammobile points out: “Obviously plans can change, and the July tentative timeframe for the open beta could change too, for better or for worse.”
The beta program is usually not made available in the Netherlands and Belgium. Still, it’s interesting for us to keep an eye on as the beta releases give us a glimpse into the new features and improvements of Android 13 for Galaxy phones.
Roll out Android 13 to Samsung phones
If Samsung has released the various beta versions of Android 13, the company can stop the beta program and start rolling out the stable version. The Galaxy S22 series in its home country of South Korea will be the first to qualify for the new Android version. Other Samsung devices and markets will follow after that.
