On holiday by car or a day out? Save (in advance) parking spaces in Google Maps and easily find the car again later.
Find and save parking space
Search for a parking space in Google Maps like this:
- Open the Google Maps app.
- At the top are several filter options, such as ‘Restaurants’. Drag it to the left and tap the last option More.
- Under “Amenities”, tap Parking.
- The nearest parking spaces will appear. For example, tap Now open to see which parking spaces are available. Or check which parking spaces are open on a particular day.
- At the top, tap More filters > Amended.
- Tap the set day, select the correct day (select a time on Android devices as well) and tap Finished.
- On the iPhone, tap the set time, select a time, and tap Finished.
- Satisfied? Tap on To apply.
- Tap the name of a parking lot for more information. Here you can find, for example, the exact location, opening hours, reviews (via the tab Reviews) and possibly the option to reserve a parking space.
- On the ‘Overview’ tab, tap Save to save the parking space in Google Maps.
- Select the list in which you want to save the car park or create a new list.
- Tap on Finished.
Find parking space
View the saved parking spaces like this:
- Open Google Maps.
- Tap at the bottom Stored.
- Under ‘Saved places nearby’ you will find all the places you have saved that are in your area.
- Under ‘lists’ you will find the lists you have created. Tap the list containing the parking lot.
- Tap the parking lot for more information.
