If you want to reply to a message or send a new email, since iOS 16, iPadOS 16 and macOS Ventura you can choose to do this at a later time. You can easily schedule an email in the near future.
Handy if you want to congratulate someone in advance or if you prefer to answer your business contact on a working day. Scheduling emails is very easy and you can choose between different suggestions or you can choose a date or time yourself.
Schedule emails for later
- Open the Mail app for iPhone or iPad
- Compose a new email or reply to an existing one
- Then hold down the send button for a few moments
- Choose a desired option
On a Mac, it is sufficient to click on the more icon (v) next to the send button.

Your iPhone, iPad or Mac will provide some suggestions, but if you want to send the email at a specific date and time you can choose ‘Send later…’.
Device must be switched on
If you want to send a message at a later time, please note that the device you used to schedule the message must be online at the selected time. If this is not the case, Mail will only send the message when you are online again.
