The headstrong car manufacturer Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus is once again exploring unexplored territory. The company hints on its Facebook page to a somewhat accessible kitcar that is somewhere between an all-terrain buggy and an SCG 004S, the “entry-level supercar” of the brand.
The shown car has no name and no concrete plans, but it seems that creator James Glickenhaus likes to include his Facebook followers in the process. “Personally, I would rather build this than a kit of Cobras,” he refers in the cover letter to the many replicas of the AC Cobra that have been created worldwide in sheds and garages.
The long-legged kitcar would be simple in design and technically more similar to a “dune buggy” than to a 004. The latter is the supercar on which the photo editing is clearly based. The extremely sporty car is equipped with huge off-road tires, gigantic wheel arch extensions, a bullbar, extra LED lighting, a roof scope and a gigantic spare wheel for the occasion. An impressive cage construction around the rear part of the body should ensure that any head roll can be survived without major injuries.
Without the off-road elements, a “normal” 004 would still have to yield about 4 tons, so it wouldn’t be a bad idea to position the newcomer a little lower. The new cross between an offroader and a supercar would be especially suitable for participating in rally events such as the American Baja 1000. Glickenhaus does not seem to have a career on public roads, although the kit-car concept is said to mean that a license plate is easier to realize in certain countries because the car no longer has to meet all the rules. It is not the first time that Glickenhaus mentions this form of sales, because the kitcar was also discussed with the very expensive 003. We also saw a long-legged from this company before, in the form of the buggy-like ‘Boot’. With a special version of it, the company even challenged its competitors for a trip around the world.
