With the Ibiza, Leon and Arona to the end

Seat is currently working on a refreshed Ibiza, Leon and Arona to offer cars with combustion engines and plug-in hybrid powertrains until the end of this decade. By 2030, the brand will stop building cars, after which it will continue as a ‘mobility provider’, among other things. The disappearance of traditional car manufacturer Seat has thus been confirmed.
It has been in the air for a while, but now it has been confirmed: after this decade, Seat is no longer a car manufacturer. In a press release, the Spanish brand announces that it will stop selling cars after 2030 and otherwise continue as a provider of mobility. Until then, the brand will continue to build cars with combustion engines and plug-in hybrid powertrains. That is why it is still busy with the ‘renewing’ models Ibiza, Leon and Arona. Whether that means that we will see new generations of those models or that the current appearances will receive major refreshes is as yet unclear. In any case, the Ateca and Tarraco seem to be disappearing in the short term.
Seat indicates that it will continue to exist after 2030, as a developer of sustainable mobility concepts and electric shared vehicles. The brand will also focus on the circularity of the Spanish car industry by recycling the materials from used cars for the construction of new vehicles. In addition, the brand is involved in the production of the four compact electric cars from other brands within the Volkswagen group, which are built in Martorell, Spain.
