Section scar

I read a lot on the internet that after 2 caesarean sections, women are also obliged to deliver the third child by caesarean section. But under the supervision of a gynaecologist, surely a woman should be able to try to give birth naturally if she so desires?

Are the risks of this that great?

How many caesarean sections can a woman have in a row?

Answer

Best,

One section is never a reason for another section. A section does of course mean that there is a scar in the uterus and that it is therefore slightly less strong.

Important is the reason for the section. If the woman’s pelvis is too narrow, it may be necessary to perform a section each time, as it will not widen in a subsequent pregnancy, but the baby may be slightly smaller, so that a vaginal delivery is still possible. can. If it is a section due to a breech presentation, the next baby can simply lie in the head position and be born vaginally.

A woman can therefore always try to give birth vaginally after one or two sections, but as you say best under the supervision of a gynaecologist, because there is a chance that the scar will tear.

There is no limit to the number of cesarean sections a woman can have, but after three to four sections, access to the uterus becomes more difficult due to scar tissue and the gynecologist will advise against additional pregnancies.

Kind regards,
