A leaked photo shows the molds of the iPhone 16. What exactly will change with the next iPhone?
First molds of iPhone 16 leaked
When you look at the photo of the leaked iPhone 16 molds, you will immediately see something striking. The lenses of the camera are positioned directly underneath each other, something we last saw on the iPhone 12. On the iPhone 13, iPhone 14 and iPhone 15, the two lenses are diagonally opposite each other.
According to rumors, Apple has been experimenting with different shapes of the camera island for the iPhone 16 in recent months. But in each version, the two camera lenses are vertically underneath each other.
The photo shows two individual rings for the wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle lenses. Both lenses are in a kind of pill-shaped island, which you also saw on older iPhones such as the iPhone X.
With the vertical layout of the cameras, it is expected that Apple will also introduce Spatial Video on the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. The iPhone 15 and the iPhone 15 Plus have two lenses that are diagonal. They cannot make Spatial Videos. Only the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and Apple Vision Pro can take these videos.
In addition to the changes to the camera that can be seen on the molds of the iPhone 16, rumors say that more will change with the next iPhone. For example, there will be a (smaller) pressure-sensitive action button on the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus.
Of course, the fact that these molds of the iPhone 16 have been leaked does not mean that the appearance of the next iPhone has been determined. The iPhone 16 molds could also have been made as a kind of test.
