Whether you want your holiday photos to be printed or if you just have them in you iCloud Want to save, initially they are in your photos app. And that app has a number of useful functions that come in handy immediately. We list some for you!

1. Take deleted photos back

With so many holiday photos, it regularly happens that your copies deliberately remove from the photos app or not. Fortunately, you can easily get them back when you regret it. At least if you don’t wait too long.

Deleted photos remain in the ‘recently deleted’ folder for 30 days. If you want to get them back, you have to do that within that time. You will find them by scrolling down and tapping ‘other’ on ‘recently deleted’. You can see for each photo how many days it is still stored. If you want to get a photo back, tap it and choose ‘Set back’. You also have the option here to definitively remove them.

2. Find double photos and add them together

You don’t always realize it, but in practice there are very regularly photos double in the photos app. This happens in particular when you forward photos, so in the case of holiday photos you can calmly assume that there are double copies. You can easily detect and merge that. You do it like this:

  1. Open the photos app and scroll down;

  2. Tap under ‘other’ on ‘double parts’;

  3. Tap next to the photos found on ‘Add together’;

  4. Then tap ‘Add 2 parts together’.

3. Find lost photos again

With tip 1 we have already explained what you can do when you have removed holiday photos (accidentally) from the photos app. But sometimes photos have not been deleted, but you can nevertheless not find them anymore. There are a few tricks for that.

First use the search function, because it works much better than you probably think. The function recognizes text that is on a photo, but also people, animals and all kinds of objects. Just tap the magnifying glass upstairs in the picture and type something that can be seen on the photo you are looking for. You can combine search terms. You do that by tapping one of the suggestions and then entering a second search term.

It is also possible that you have lost photos because you have accidentally hidden them. In that case the photo is placed in a hidden folder. So check that folder to see if this did indeed happen. You can find the ‘hidden’ folder all the way down again, under ‘others’.

4. Copy and paste operations

Chances are that you will soon get started with editing your favorite holiday photo. Are you completely satisfied with those operations? Then you don’t have to remember everything to do the same with the other photos. You can simply copy and apply the operations to other photos.

When you have finished editing the photo, tap the three dots at the top right and choose ‘Copy operations’. Then open another photo, tap the three dots again and now opt for ‘slice operations’. A child can do the laundry!
